The short answer

What is remote functional training and how does it work?

Remote functional training is personalized fitness coaching delivered through the Voltex app and video check-ins. You get a custom program, exercise videos and progress tracking, built around how you move and what you want to achieve.

It’s fitness coaching, not physical therapy. We don’t diagnose or treat injuries remotely. If you have pain or an injury, we’ll see you in person at our North Austin clinic.

What the research says

Functional training: three things most people get wrong

01

Strength beats stretching.

A review of 25 trials with 26,610 athletes found strength training cut sports injuries to less than one-third, while stretching showed no protective effect.

02

Strength training is for everyone.

World Health Organization guidelines recommend 150 to 300 minutes of moderate activity a week, plus regular muscle-strengthening at every age.

03

It pays off for life.

Across large cohort studies, people who did muscle-strengthening activities had a 10% to 17% lower risk of death from any cause.
